SGA MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
During this week’s meeting the Senate voted on multiple amendments to the SGA Constitution.These include: Council Representatives of the SGA no longer are required to serve one office hour per week during the academic year; the Elections Committee has been dissolved and all duties of the Elections Chair has been moved under the Programming Director; Votes regarding club constitutions to now be held in public; Restructuring of the SGA excuse policy; and tabling motions between academic years is now prohibited.The Senate also passed legislation in support of more street lighting along Jordan road for increased visibility.Want to know how the Student Government budget is allocated? The new website includes everything from how to contact members of SGA, the minutes from prior meetings,and the goals SGA hopes to accomplish this year.The Pennsylvania State University will be “soft launching” their smoke-free/tobacco-free policy University-wide this January. By Fall 2018, the University plans to begin enforcing this policy by means uncertain at the time.Budget appeals will be this Thursday, November 16, at 6:00pm in Reed 114 for those who were denied funding in the November budget requests.
